Bio

My name is Maryam Zare and I hold a master's degree in condensed matter physics. As I have read and understood more relevant material in the field of cognitive neuroscience during my university studies, I am considering shifting my focus from condensed matter physics to this field. My interest in data analysis led me to work on EEG data and perform signal processing before starting my master's degree. However, during my master's degree, in addition to working on thesis, I also took a course in machine learning, deep learning and computer vision and am now well prepared for a career in cognitive neuroscience. In my opinion, cognitive neuroscience is the perfect starting point for the building I wanted to build while studying physics. Interacting with human samples makes this trend very different from another trend, such as condensed matter physics, and that's why I find it even more appealing. During my studies I managed to understand critical and chaotic phenomena, and I think that's why I find the world of the brain so fascinating.
